Trails

Below, you will find featured rides and places to ride mountain bikes in Humboldt county that we really enjoy.  Each ride has a few sample photos, map and a description of the trails to make it easy to choose which ride suits your needs.  We've also added useful links to make it easier to find the right ride for you.

 

Arcata Community FOrest

Right behind Humboldt State University in Arcata, the Arcata Community Forest offers a maze of steep fire road climbs intertwined with twisty flat single track through the redwoods.

 

Lacks Creek

Less than an hour east of Arcata, Lacks Creek is Humboldt's new favorite place to ride.  Lacks Creek offers close to 15 miles of mountain bike specific down hill single track, along with a fun jump line next to the parking area.

Paradise Royale  

SoHum's IMBA built trail system in the kings range national conservation area is not to be missed.  On the coast, about an hour west of Garberville, the Paradise Royale trail will send you on a 12 mile loop of purpose built mountain bike trail with close to 2,300 ft of climbing.


ARCATA Community forest- SUnny Brae

The Sunny Brae section of the Arcata Community forest on the south side of Fickle Hill Rd in Arcata, offers a fun flowy section of mountain bike specific single track.

Humboldt redwoOds state park-ossagon Trail

The Ossagon trail winds through Humboldt Redwoods State Park from the highway and ends up near the beach at the famous Fern Canyon.
