Sponsor a Trail

RCMBA has constructed over 50 trails totalling over 20 miles between the Macktown and Hatchery Ridge Trail systems. These trails require constant maintenance throughout the year to keep them open and rolling. This requires thousands of hours of volunteer labor every year and constant purchases of new tools, materials, and equipment to conduct this work. By sponsoring a trail, we will use at least 50% of your donation directly towards maintaining the trail system that the sponsored trail is located in. These funds might be used to feed the volunteers on trail work days helping us attract more volunteers, purchasing new tools or replacing tools as they break, purchasing materials needed to maintain the trail, or renting equipment to work on the trail. The remaining funds will go towards the general operations of RCMBA as we build and advocate for more trails in our area. Remember, we are a 100% volunteer-powered organization. Your hard-earned dollars will go far with us.

For a pledge of $1,000 per year per trail, you will receive:

  • Your name or logo prominently displayed on a sign at the start of the sponsored trail along with the land manager.

  • Your name or logo prominently displayed with other trail sponsors at the kiosk to the trail system.

  • Your name or logo (linked to your business website if applicable) on the trail sponsor webpage below or on a rotating ribbon on the RCMBA home page.

  • Your logo displayed as a sponsor of at least one volunteer trail work day per year on the website events page and recognition at the sponsored trail work day. RCMBA reserves the right to have no more than three sponsors listed per one trail work day depending on how many trail work days are held in a year. If trail work is planned on your sponsored trail, then you are guaranteed to be listed as a sponsor.

Where are the other trail systems?

McKay, McKinleyville, and Arcata Community Forests and Lacks Creek and Paradise Royale are under the jurisdiction of their respective municipalities or government agencies, and we will work with them to come up with a trail sponsorship system that assists all user groups not just RCMBA if it is something that they are interested in pursuing. For now, we have the ability to pursue trail sponsorships on Green Diamond Resource Company’s lands, which RCMBA is the sole user group.
